Join us, be inspired and showcase your talent at the Queensland Vocal Competition Festival! This year it will be held at the University of Queensland School of Music on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May 2024. 

The QVC Festival is an exciting event, and has attracted a list of renowned Ambassadors for this event, from Katie Noonan, to international opera star Jessica Pratt to this year’s extraordinary Australian opera singer, Alexandra Flood. QVC Festival 2024 is excited to have mezzo-soprano Milijana Nikolič as our adjudicator of the Operatic Aria heats and final.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Monday 22 April: Cut off date for registrations. To enter, singers must register via Comps Online.

  • Monday 6 May - Repertoire due: digital form will be provided after entries close on 22 April.

  • Monday 6 May: Last day for entrants to contact the official accompanist (if required)

    • Singers may employ their own accompanist or opt to use an Accompanist provided by the QMTA.

    • It is the singers responsibility to contact the accompanist to organise a rehearsal or if the singer chooses not to have a rehearsal they must contact and inform the accompanist(s) of tempo for their particular songs.

    • Singers are to pay the accompanist for rehearsal time. Accompaniment during the QVCF performances is covered by entry fees.

    • Please know an accompanist has the right to refuse accompaniment if you do not contact or rehearse with them.

HOW TO ENTER

Enter QVC Festival 2024 by registering through online platform Comps Online.

You will be required to create a Comps Online account if you do not already have one.

Once you have registered with Comps Online, you will see a list of competition events in Australia where QVC Festival is also listed.

Entry Fees:

  • Novice - $15

  • Emerging - $18

  • Open - $20

  • Open (Operatic Aria) - $25

    NOTE: To be eligible to enter the Open Operatic Aria section entrants must enter one other Open section.

Please provide ONE copy of this form at your first section’s registration. One form for ALL repertiore please.

SPECIAL NOTE

The QMTA is a not-for-profit association and the QVC Festival also functions as a not-for-profit event. Your support matters in keeping the festival alive along with promoting and celebrating Classical singing.
